A Summer Camp to teach reading skills in French using phonetiques/ phonics sounds. It will meet 3 times per week for 2 weeks. Suitable for beginners and students wanting to improve reading and pronunciation skills. Students will learn how to pronounce letters in French by learning the sounds of letters and combinations of letters in the French alphabet. The class aims to improve reading skills in a fun way and enable children to recognize and pronounce letter sounds. The class approach is to include stories, rhymes and singing to build vocabulary targeting the key sound of the day. The students will read simple sentences and a rhyme or verse including natural authentic French. There is a focus on interactive tasks and lots of opportunities for children to practice speaking in French. Learning goals: •recognize and pronounce new French words while building vocabulary knowledge • improve French accent when speaking • increased confidence when speaking • improved reading skills

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in French Teaching from the University of Utah. She also lived in three French-speaking countries for a year and a half (France, Switzerland, Luxembourg). As a teacher, Camilla is patient, encouraging, and upbeat. She makes class enjoyable and stress-free while still creating a challenging learning environment.
