Experiencia de clase

In this class, we will play Fortnite together. Using private parties, we will play Fortnite. The goal of this class is for learners to socially interact with other learners as they play the game each week. All skill levels are welcome, but for maximum enjoyment, learners should have basic knowledge of the game and know how to change their settings and accept "join party" requests.

RULES:
-In order to join our private party, learners will need to share their gamer tag with me. This must be done privately. Learners can either send me a message on Outschool or send me a private message on zoom during class with the tag name. Any publically shared tag messages will be deleted. If parental controls are enabled, the parent may need to input a pin in the game in order to accept friend requests. Please plan accordingly.
-Learners are expected to show good sportsmanship. Everyone is expected to have a good attitude.
-Please also keep all conversation, your player skin, and gamer tag family-friendly.
-We will start playing around 5 minutes after the class has started. If you are late, you may have to wait until the current game we are playing ends.
-The following settings must be set:
1.	Turn on “Anonymous Mode”
2.	Turn on “Hide Other Player Names”
3.	Turn off “Show Text Chat”
4.	Voice Chat set to “Nobody”

NOTE: The above settings will protect learners' privacy and make it so they can only communicate with the other learners in class. If learners purposefully go into a game without these settings, I’ll give them a warning and notify their parents/guardians. But then after that, if they keep doing it, I’ll have to withdraw them from the class. At the beginning of class, I’ll remind everyone to change their settings and we’ll take the time to make sure everyone is able to do so.

Once class starts and I have your gamer tag, I will send invites to my private party. Once everyone present is ready, we will enter creative mode and decide what we want to play. I will keep everyone unmuted, so we can have relaxed and friendly conversations. The goal is not to win, but to have fun. Learners will have the opportunity to ask each other questions about the game's strategy and characters.

VERY IMPORTANT: Please note that learners will not be able to participate in class if they don't have the following.
-A device that is compatible with Fortnite
-A download of Fortnite
-Depending on the device you are playing on, you may need additional accounts such as a Microsoft account for Xbox, etc.
-It's highly recommended to have an epic games account when playing.

You may want to keep the charger nearby or make sure your device is fully charged before class.

Before class, please make sure your device and game are ready to go.

In order to join the class's online room, learners will need to follow these directions.
1. Privately send me your gamer tag.
2. I will send you an invite to my private party.
3. From the social menu, accept my invite.
4. Change the following settings:
-Turn on “Anonymous Mode”
-Turn on “Hide Other Player Names”
-Turn off “Show Text Chat”
-Voice Chat set to “Nobody”

The game modes we play each week will be determined by the learners.
Metas de aprendizaje
In this social club, learners will meet other players close to their age and also get the chance to talk about their favorite games and characters. As we play together, we can learn from each other and form friendships.

Orientación para padres
In order to join my private party, learners will need to share their gamer tag with me. This must be done privately either through a private message on Outschool before class, or a private zoom message during class. Fortnite is rated T for teens by the ESRB for violence. Quoted from the ESRB website: "This is an action game in which players build forts, gather resources, craft weapons, and battle hordes of monsters in frenetic combat. From a third-person perspective, players use guns, swords, and grenades to fight skeleton-like monsters (husks) in ranged and melee-style combat. Players can also defeat enemies by using various traps (e.g., electric, spikes, poisonous gas). Battles are highlighted by frequent gunfire, explosions, and cries of pain."
