En esta clase grupal continua aprenderemos los conceptos básicos de la flauta, mejoraremos nuestros conocimientos previos, aprenderemos nuevas canciones, practicaremos para la banda y prepararemos una pequeña grabación o concierto para familiares y amigos. ¡Será divertido!

Nivel Beginner - Advanced
This Flute Club will follow a consistent Theme: Flute Practice. It will be an ongoing group flute class where the students will learn and practice the basics of the flute such as sound, breathing, fingerings, scales, arpeggios and they will get to apply these to the pieces they would like to play. The class will be structured as a practice session so that students can continue practicing on their own and keep making progress. We will take turns playing with the microphone on and off and students will get to hear their class mates play. Each meeting will include: Sound/Breathing exercises (5-7 minutes), scales and arpeggios ( 10-12 minutes), repertoire practice in the remaining time of the class. The goals of the course will be set according to each student’s level and expectations and we will aim at preparing a little audition/concert every few weeks for family and friends. We will cover the following themes: Week of April 7th: Theme 1: Breathing , position of the flute and quarter notes and eight notes Week of April 14th: Theme 2: Embouchure and Rhythm: whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, eight notes. Week of April 21: Theme 3: Articulation + rhythm exercises Week of April 28: Theme 4: Notes G ,A, B and Mary had a little Lamb Week of May 5th: Theme 5: Notes G, A, B practice Week of May12th: Theme 6: Notes C, D, E F# middle register + song Week of May 19: Theme 7 : G major Scale + sound exercises + song Week of May 26: Theme 8: Create your own melody in G major Week of June 2nd: Theme 9: Audition: play for your family and friends Week of June 9th Theme 10: F major scale ( Bb new note) + song and book exercises Week of June 16th: Theme 11: F major scale practice+ exercises + song Week of June 23rd: Theme 12: Middle register Week of June 30th: Theme 13: Bb major scale ( new notes: Eb) Week of July 7th: Theme 14: Bb major practice + book+ song Week of July 14th: Theme 15: Review scales G, F , Bb + favorite song Week of July 21st: Theme 16: Audition: Play for your family and friends
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will learn the basics of the flute from the beginning or practice their prior knowledge.
The goals will be tailored to each student according to their needs.
If there are specific songs they would like to play we will find a way to do it according to their level.
We will base our lessons on the “Estudio Flauta” and will learn each of the pieces and exercises the book offers.
If the students need help with their music class or school band repertoire we will work on that too.
