FLEX- Clase de baile de Moana

If you enjoy the song How Far I'll Go from Moana, you will love this class. This is a flex class therefore we will not meet live, learners will be sent videos and encouraged to send Miss Joice a video sharing their show and tell item as well as video of the choreography as we have learned it and practiced. Additionally, they can share their activity sheet throughout the week too.

This is a perfect way to mix the entertainment of the song with some gross motor skills. We will learn some choreography, dance to a lot of upbeat songs from the movie and more. Throughout the class we will talk about how dance movement can help us remember words to the songs and vice versa. This is the perfect way for your learner to get the wiggles out by dancing as well as teaching their brain multi tasking. 

Each week learners will receive a video to follow as we learn our choreography. After class, learners will be given a show and tell assignment as well as an activity sheet to color to continue the learning process. Learners are encouraged to send Miss Joice a video sharing their show and tell item, their activity sheet as well as practice their choreography. Miss Joice will always reply to these videos. 

Each week we will learn portions of the dance as well as talk about the following: 
Week 1: 
Class content: Butterflies/nervous before performing and how to channel that into excitement! 
Choreography: 0-36 seconds
Scavenger hunt/Show and tell: a comfort item 

Week 2: 
Class content: Opposition of arms, a learned skill for younger movers. 
Choreography: 0:37-1:10 minutes
Scavenger hunt/show and tell: opposite of what Miss Joice shows you! 

Week 3: 
Class content: Matching our energy to the sound/volume we hear from the music. Choreography 1:11-1:34 minutes
Scavenger hunt/show and tell: find something quiet.

Week 4: 
Class content: How to carry our voices singing even when doing large movement with our bodies.
Choreography 1:35-2:11
Scavenger hunt/show and tell: find something loud! 

Week 5:
Class content: Music phrases always repeat and the choreography changes to fit the section of the song. 
Choreography 2:12-end!
Scavenger hunt/show and tell: find something fancy to wear for your “performance” of our dance
