Film has been a part of our lives for our entire lives. Flim has been around since the 1800s and people have been using it in a wide variety of films and ways of expression.

In my 40-minute class, students will watch 5 different movies, one for each week, and we will discuss and analyze it during class. We will discuss the plot of the movie, the main characters, the costumes, the setting, and much more. Learners will need to watch the movie before class starts to avoid spoilers, as we will not be watching it in class. These movies are rated G and rated PG, and will be noted in the description.

Week 1: Ratatouille- G- (2007) Synopsis
Remy dreams of becoming a great chef, despite being a rat in a definitely rodent-phobic profession. He moves to Paris to follow his dream, and with the help of hapless garbage boy Linguini he puts his culinary skills to the test in the kitchen but he has to stay in hiding at the same time, with hilarious consequences. Remy eventually gets the chance to prove his culinary abilities to a great food critic but is the food good?

During this week, learners will watch the movie and take notes about the story, the different characters, the graphics, the lighting of the movie, the costumes of the characters, setting, action and sound, and plot. We will then discuss each of these elements together in class.

Week 2: Inside Out PG (2015) Synopsis
Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old Midwestern girl, but her world turns upside-down when she and her parents move to San Francisco. Riley's emotions -- led by Joy (Amy Poehler) -- try to guide her through this difficult, life-changing event. However, the stress of the move brings Sadness (Phyllis Smith) to the forefront. When Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley's mind, the only emotions left in Headquarters are Anger, Fear and Disgust.

During this week, learners will watch the movie and take notes about the story, the different characters, the graphics, the lighting of the movie, the costumes of the characters, setting, action and sound, and plot. We will then discuss each of these elements together in class.

Next to his older brother, Tadashi, Hiro's closest companion is Baymax (Scott Adsit), a robot whose sole purpose is to take care of people. When a devastating turn of events throws Hiro into the middle of a dangerous plot, he transforms Baymax and his other friends, Go Go Tamago (Jamie Chung), Wasabi (Damon Wayans Jr.), Honey Lemon (Genesis Rodriguez) and Fred (T.J. Miller) into a band of high-tech heroes.
