One to one guided lessons give students a chance to practice their reading skills with an experienced teacher. Listening as the child reads, I can give immediate feedback that we can work through together. Your child does not need to be in third grade to take this class as long as they are reading at a reading level of S-V and/or a Lexile score of 890-1080. - Students will improve reading comprehension, reading fluency, and phonemic awareness. Students will be able to use a variety of strategies to decode words. Students will gain confidence in their reading abilities.
Amanda is a former 4th grade school teacher turned homeschool mom. She currently teaches online and tutors. She also designs curriculum and helps homeschoolers understand developmentally appropriate practices.
Students should be reading at a reading level S-V or Lexile 890-1080.
A PDF of the weekly reading will be sent to you before each class. Please print the reading.
Our stories will come from Reading A-Z. You will receive a PDF copy of the story before every class. We will also project the story on the screen during class.
