One to one guided lessons give students a chance to practice their reading skills with an experienced teacher. Listening as the child reads, I can give immediate feedback that we can work through together. Your child does not need to be in third grade to take this class as long as they are reading at a reading level of S-V and/or a Lexile score of 890-1080. All of the stories we will be reading will fall within this range. Students reading slightly above or below these scores are welcome to join. Students reading at a slightly lower level will be healthily challenged to move forward whereas students reading at a slightly higher level will benefit from easier books to develop their fluency skills. We will begin each class with a skill review. The skills we review will be determined based on the previous class's struggles. Class Format: -Skill Review -Guided Reading -Sharing Our Wins Our stories will be short passages from Reading A-Z, and will be a mix of fiction and non-fiction.
