Students should have some basic knowledge of sketching an outfit on a Fashion Figure (Croquis) prior to this class. I have another class (FD2 Fashion Design 2: Clothing Design, Detail, Coloring & Texture) that is best to take first. I will have a sketch of 3 fashion figures in different poses attached to the classroom for students to use in this collection. These poses work well together with different views of the body. Students should be prepared to participate, as we are designing a Collection as a Team. Every team member is important and adds different aspects to the final project. You must be able to work with differing opinions and ideas in a competitive industry, such as Fashion Design. Students may now work traditionally OR Digitally! Due to learner demand, I will be using Procreate to show the steps digitally. I have listed both traditional supplies AND digital requirements, and will go over the differences. The Fashion Design Industry has transformed to mostly digital art, so it's a good practice to know both. *Students choosing digital art will gain knowledge of the importance of "layers" and get into the habit of keeping them separate from color/texture, etc...
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will come away with the knowledge of selecting pieces, fabrics and colors that go together to make a fashion collection (grouping).

I am trained in both traditional Fashion Design/Illustration as well as Graphic Design/Digital Art. I believe it is good practice for learners to understand the direction of the industry they are interested in, and keep up with standards. My Fashion Design courses are all being updated to now include Digital designing, as this is the current direction.
