Club de lectura ¡Favoritos!: un club de lectura atractivo para estudiantes talentosos de 13 a 15 años

In this book club, we will be discussing books that are consistently chosen as favorites across all my book clubs. These 6 books will be well-liked by most and will spur on an engaging discussion for the students. 

In this highly interactive class, students will meet over the course of five weeks to discuss a set of acclaimed and engaging literature. Students will come to the book club eager to discuss the novel and are expected to have their cameras on and be ready to actively participate in the discussion. Each student will have the opportunity to answer discussion questions and share their thoughts with the group. 

The books we will be discussing are:

Week 1 - The Loop by Ben Oliver
Week 2 - The Hollow Inside by Brooke Lauren Davis
Week 3 - Impossible Escape by Steve Sheinkin
Week 4 - Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie 
Week 5 - The Enigma Game by Elizabeth Wein
Week 6 - Scythe by Neal Shusterman

This class is for the student who devours books and enjoys discussing the essential themes in each book. Students who enjoy sharing their thoughts with others either on the microphone or via the chat box will do well in this class. 

In terms of structure, every week, I will lead a round-table discussion for each book we read. Every week we will discuss topics ranging from the author's intent to character and plot development. Then we will all share our opinions as we analyze the works. Through facilitating the discussion, I will model to the students how to clearly express their thoughts and how to debate and discuss topics with their peers. Every student in the class will have an opportunity to share their opinion.
