This novel is the first in Rick Riordan's series "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard". It is a first person account of the Norse demigod, Magnus Chase, son of Frey (Norse god of peace, fertility and wealth) and Natalie Chase. We will be taking a closer look at the literary aspects throughout the novel, but the full reading should be done outside of class. I like to tailor in-class activities specifically to student interest, but a loose outline of each week's class is as follows:
