In this class, students will explore a wide variety of the history and culture of Ancient Egypt mummies while considering multiple perspectives. During our adventure together, your learner will discuss the importance of mummies to ancient Egyptians, why they were made, and how they were made from different angles. Students will enjoy learning using a variety of methods, including videos, slide presentations, drawing, brainstorming, and arts and crafts. They will be encouraged to engage in the class by asking questions and sharing their thoughts from their unique perspective. To ensure a comprehensive understanding of the subject, we will also explore multiple viewpoints and interpretations of historical events. We will play a review game at the end to remind ourselves of what we learned. Please have the worksheets downloaded in advance of the class. These will help your learner to take good notes and consider different perspectives

Fuentes
There are several historical sources that can help ensure that your class on Ancient Egypt is not biased and includes the perspectives of marginalized groups. Here are the top sources that I use in my Ancient Egypt classes.
1 - "Ancient Egyptian Mummies" by Salima Ikram - This book provides an in-depth look at mummification practices in ancient Egypt, including the perspectives of marginalized groups such as women, children, and foreigners.
2 - "Nubian Mummies: Death as a Bridge between Worlds" by Solange Ashby - This article discusses the mummification practices of Nubian people, who were often marginalized by the ancient Egyptians.
3 - "The Mummy's Curse: Mummymania in the English-Speaking World" by Jasmine Day - This book explores the cultural phenomenon of "mummymania" in the Western world, including the ways in which ancient Egyptian culture has been appropriated and misrepresented over time.
4 - "The Role of Women in the Mummification Process in Ancient Egypt" by Caroline Seawright - This article highlights the important role that women played in the mummification process in ancient Egypt, offering a perspective often overlooked in traditional narratives.
5 - "Mummies and Magic: The Funerary Arts of Ancient Egypt" by Christina Riggs - This book examines the role of magic in ancient Egyptian funerary practices, offering a unique perspective on the cultural and religious significance of mummification.
