In this on-going class students will get quick hit practice of 1st grade level vocabulary once a week, you can join or leave at any time. Students will build phonemic awareness, develop a rich vocabulary, and complete activities with words given. This class is interactive and students will be encouraged to read/share aloud. The class structure will be: 1. Introduction to new words (10 words each class) 2. Review word blend/rule of the day 3. Word work activity (please bring pencil & paper to each class) 4. Discuss/share/practice January 3-May 6 Vocabulary Schedule: January 3-7: Short A words January 10-14: Short E words January 17-21: Short I words January 24- 28: Short O, "all" words, Short Ow words January 31- Feb. 4: Contractions & short a Words February 7-11: er-ir-ur words/oo words February 21-25: final e rule February 28-March 4: ee/ea long "e" sound March 7-11: short a words March 14-18: 2 consonant rule words March 21-25: short I words March 28-April 1: short u words April 4-8: short a words April 11-15: short I words April 18-22: ee blend- long "e" words April 25-29: Finale "e" rule words May 2-6: ea blend- long and short e words

I'm Amanda Fischer and welcome to my classroom. I am a state Certified teacher in Elementary Education K-6 and a K-12 Reading Specialist. Throughout the last ten years I have taught all levels of students ranging from elementary to college.
I hold a BA in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist. I have taught all subject areas, tutored students of multi ages, and helped high school students who read below grade level. I attend professional development classes each year to continue my education.
I absolutely love teaching and building positive relationships with my students. It is my goal to make learning engaging, positive, motivating, safe, and stress free.I strive to meet each students educational goals and needs based on their specific learning style. My area of expertise include reading, writing, goal setting, time management, and communication.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy life on the ranch with my family. I enjoy barrel racing, horseback riding, caring for my animals, and traveling. I look forward to meeting you in class. Reseñas
