Experiencia de clase

You’re in luck! This is the flex version of my most requested class.
DISCOUNTED RATE available now for a limited time only!

Throughout my 15 year career, I have lost count with the amount of times I have heard students talking among themselves and asking, "When will I ever use this?!" When it comes to life skills, a topic that I am incredibly passionate about, I can't help but put myself in their shoes as I probably wondered the same when I was in middle and high school. There are so many things taught in traditional school settings, but the emphasis of those core classes aren’t always skills you will take with you and build upon for the years to come. Just about everything adults do in their daily lives requires a multi-faceted implementation of planning, effective time-management skills, consistency, and self-discipline.

Each week for these 4 weeks, I will introduce topics and information with both a video and presentation with Quizizz. Learners will be provided with a digital planner, notes posted in the "Classroom" section of the class, plus 1 independent task to do related to the topic of the week. The course is designed to be hands-on with interactive activities and graphics students can use either now or later on in their lives.

We will be using the Outschool classroom for this class as a means of streamlining the videos, assignments/tasks, discussions, and more. It's the best way for me to assess and give feedback, too! Learners may be asked to comment on posts in the classroom, provide examples to their classmates of activities they have completed, answer the questions in the Quizizz polls for interaction and begin using their personal planners I will provide to them from an editable Google Doc. Within the lecture videos at times, intermittent questions will be inserted that the learners need to answer to ensure I know they are learning the information.

This class is great for:
- students experiencing difficulty with executive functioning skills and require thorough coaching
- identifying YOUR preferred learning style
- how to respectfully advocate for yourself in a classroom setting
- avoiding conflict with authority figures by communicating and asking for clarifications when needed
- understanding that these skills apply to planning as well as effective study habits
- strategies to combat procrastination
- cultivating consistency and long-term success strategies
- these strategies will not only help now, but for years to come
- students that have difficulty focusing
- neurodivergent teens: ADD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder; all special education learners are welcome

Questions are encouraged, and any topic a student is interested in should be communicated to me.
I love learners who are inquisitive, that participate, and follow-through with the assignments given.
This class doesn't work unless learners put in the work.
