This is a short class designed for students interested in learning about the Latin Language, Roman Culture, and how it relates to our lives today. This class will not focus on Latin grammar and how to read Latin in detail but will give students a glimpse into what learning the Latin Language will be like, key differences between Latin and English, and touch on some of the fun stuff about Ancient Roman culture. Class 1: Why Does Latin Matter? - What's the point of learning a dead language? How does it impact our lives today?/What's Different About Latin?: Inflection, Conjugating Verbs, Declining Nouns.

Class 2: Mythology, Art, and Literature - What are they key myths, art, and literature from Ancient Rome? Do they have any impact on the things we create today?

Class 3: History (The Cool Stuff) - We will look at some of the most interesting and impactful events in Ancient Roman history.

Class 4: Having Fun (Daily Life, Holidays, Festivals, and more) - We will talk about how Romans lived their lives and had fun. We will discuss some of the key cultural elements from their society and how it impacts our world today.
