*This is a supplement to my Intro to Essay Basics course but may also be taken on its own. Here, students are expected to submit their own rough draft essay after reviewing the videos. The videos are broken up by subject matter to make it easier for the students to find the content giving them trouble.

This is a beginner-level course! This class is designed for students that have trouble starting or finishing essays and everything in between.

Students will learn how to use tools, tips, and thinking skills that they can bring with them into the classroom and use without having to worry that they will stand out to other students.

We will cover essay basics, including essay structure, paragraph structure, how to break down and understand a writing prompt, how to develop a thesis, and how to apply personal interests to academic writing assignments. This class will be a great supplement to in-school writing assignments.

Students should have plenty of paper and a pen or pencil to take notes.

If assignments are turned in on time and there is a delay, please reach out. Mr. Conway teaches several courses on top of his schedule outside of Outschool. Therefore, any delay is usually to be sure that your student's work is getting the attention it deserves.
