This is a conversation course. Students will practice speaking, asking questions, debating topics from current events, school life, hobbies, and culture. I will present prompts and questions 24 hours before each class meeting. Learners should attend class ready to Lead one section of the discussion Share a prepared response Ask thought-provoking questions of speakers Typical Class Schedule 1. Brief introductions 2. A student leader is named for section one. 3. Student One presents a response to the week's first prompt. I will offer immediate feedback on grammar, syntax, word choice, and pronunciation. 4. Students may ask questions of the first speaker, and he or she will have time to reply. 5. A student leader is named for section two. 6. Student Two presents a response to the week's second prompt. I will offer immediate feedback on grammar, syntax, word choice, and pronunciation. 7. Students may ask questions of the second speaker, and he or she will have time to reply. The primary goal is for students to use English to present opinions, discuss views, ask and answer questions while socializing with other teens. This will be a student lead group but I will offer guidance, feedback, and correction as needed so students improve fluency, build vocabulary, and develop confidence in their English skills while interacting with other teens who share an interest in English language learning.

Prompt Two: Choose one side: People are too dependent on technology.

Prompt One: General Topic will be about academic life (specific prompts will be shared 24 hours before class)
Prompt Two: General Topic will be about hobbies and health (specific prompts will be shared 24 hours before class)
Week Three: Week of Jan 23
Prompt One: General Topic will be about friends (specific prompts will be shared 24 hours before class)
Prompt Two: General Topic will be about appearance and personal style choices (specific prompts will be shared 24 hours before class)
Week Four: Week of Jan 30
Prompt One: General Topic will be about planning for the future (specific prompts will be shared 24 hours before class)
Prompt Two: General Topic will be about music and art (specific prompts will be shared 24 hours before class)
