This week long camp combines science, nature, and art as learners spend time exploring the earth and our environment. Each class will start with an interactive presentation that will introduce a topic. No previous knowledge is necessary. Activities, games, and art projects are developed to be light and fun! Day 1- Topic: Introduction of Earth's surface- land and water Game time: animal, plant, land or water! Art project: all about coral Day 2- Topic: 5 biomes of the world Mini sand castle building contest Short nature walk Day 3- Topic: The power of trees and the oxygen we breathe Nature walk show and tell Art project: tree portraits with water colors Day 4- Topic: Diving into water-water conservation and water pollution Story-based activity (learners will follow along with the story and create a scene of polluted water) Day 5- Topic: Our planet and environmental impacts Game time: charades Project: personal mobile with positive environmental actions in home and locally **Please message me for alternate dates/times. This class can also be set up as a multi-day, once a week course.

Day 3 - Water color paper, card stock Paint brushes Tissue paper (any colors that the student may want) Crayons Glue Paint (any type) Leaf (a live leaf from tree, bush, etc.) Glass of water large enough to submerge leaf Day 4- bowl of water 1 drop red food coloring 1/2 tsp. cooking oil ripped up pieces of paper 1/2 tsp. coffee grounds Day 5 - Hanger Yarn Print outs provided Scissors Glue Paper Crayons

Hi! My name is Kristi and I am so happy you ventured over to my science learning lab!
My goal is for students to have fun, maybe get messy, and gain a love for science! My teaching style is interactive and hands-on as I try to bring science to life. My classes work well for the kinesthetic learner.
You will find that most of my classes have a hands-on component to complement the learning experience and my presentations are very visual.
I do my very best to keep prices lower than average as I understand how quickly classes add up for parents. Keeping the prices lower also helps parents as there are material lists for experiments and activities. However, almost every class that I have has a coupon! Please reach out if you need assistance.
When I am not teaching I love to spend time with my daughter outside, gardening, raising chicks, and learning new skills. My goal is to combine some of my hobbies while teaching.
I have been teaching environmental science to students in pre-k through 12th grade for over 12 years. I have taught in various settings including outdoors, in classrooms, and online. I currently run my own business developing and delivering science lessons and custom curriculums to students in school settings, early learning centers, scouts, libraries, and more! I received my B.A.s in Environmental Science and Sociology in 2016 and my M.S. in Resilient and Sustainable Communities in 2019.Reseñas
