Let's draw realistic faces from all different angles! In this four-lesson series, we'll practice portrait drawing strategies and create beautiful realistic sketches of faces and hair from the front, side, and 3/4 view. This class is for students who would like to practice portrait drawing strategies such as: -- Making faces proportionate & realistic -- Drawing realistic features (eyes, noses, mouths, ears, etc) with different expressions -- Making the face look 3D, from different angles Here is our class syllabus: Lesson 1: Proportions & hair from the front view Lesson 2: Proportions & hair from the side/profile view Lesson 3: Three-quarters (angled) view; "foreshortening" the features Lesson 4: Adding shadows & embellishments (piercings, freckles, wrinkles, teeth, etc.) This class is part of my "Draw Together" series. For each lesson, we'll use photo references as inspiration for our sketches. Students will be able to see both the reference and my drawing, and they will follow along with me step-by-step! Every few steps (or upon request) we'll pause so I can give each student personal feedback and corrections if needed-- for those who are shy, feedback is not required, but I can assure you that I've already seen all the mistakes at one time or another! We're all growing in our skills. We will be using photographs of people as references. Photographs will depict a diverse range of humans, and respect for all models will be expected. Please feel free to address concerns with me beforehand, and I will take your student's needs into consideration.

All you'll need for this class is: -- Drawing paper -- Pencil -- A good eraser That's it! Feel free to sketch in a sketchbook, use fancy drawing pencil sets, and your favorite dinosaur-shaped eraser...or whatever you feel most comfortable using :)
