Experiencia de clase

Follow along with my pre-recorded Procreate app tutorial videos to create your own digital art series of 3 illustrations containing "Animals & Botanicals" as your subject. Learn my entire process of creating modern and professional digital art using your iPad, and pick up insider tips from a professional artist! Take a look at the Syllabus for a Weekly Project Breakdown and the lessons and skills you will learn throughout the class.

💡 We will start with brainstorming, collecting reference images, and planning out our designs.

🐯 Then we will create 3 illustrations featuring animals, plants, and flowers; all while learning tons of beginner and intermediate Procreate app techniques and useful skills for digital artists.

✨ Last, we’ll learn how to save and export our artwork to be printed at home, locally, or online. We will even learn how to save the different elements of our artwork as clip-art that we can then use as design assets in other programs. I’ll demonstrate how to use Canva.com (an easy-to-use online graphic design platform) to create and print your designs on various home goods, apparel, and accessories that you can purchase for yourself or gift to others!

~ PEER INTERACTION ~
Learners will be encouraged to post their artwork to our "Procreate Digital Art Showcase" hosted on Padlet.com! Think of it like a collaborative art gallery where students can show off their work and encourage their peers.

~ FREEBIES ~
In addition to the Lesson Videos, learners will be getting some other fun freebies when they enroll in this course including:

🌟 A Procreate App Cheat Sheet
🌟 Theme Ideas lists
🌟 Reference image sheets
🌟 6 custom color palettes
🌟 2 custom texture and shading Procreate brushes
🌟 Access to our student collaborative art gallery hosted on Padlet.com

~ WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR? ~
This course is perfect for students of all levels. Beginner-level students can follow along with my illustrations exactly while more experienced students can create a different illustration alongside the step-by-step tutorial videos. A basic understanding of how to use the Procreate app will be helpful. If you are new to the Procreate app or would like to learn some basic skills before enrolling in this course, I recommend checking out my "Intro to Procreate for Beginners" Self-Paced class. For students who just need a quick refresher of the basics, I provide all students who enroll in this "Animals and Botanicals" course with a "Procreate App Basics" video in the first set of lessons.

~ WHAT TO EXPECT ~
This is a Self-Paced course. This means that there are no live meetings. Student will learn through pre-recorded lesson videos and work through the lessons on their own time. This means that learners will be able to pause, re-watch, and create their artwork at their own pace. Units are broken down into bite-size video lessons so that learners can easily digest each step in the creation process. Learners can post any questions that might come up in the classroom posts or message the teacher directly.

Ready to expand your Procreate app & digital drawing skills? I hope to have you in my class soon!

Orientación para padres
PROCREATE: We will be creating digital art on the Procreate app for iPads during class. This is a third-party app that will need to be downloaded onto the learner's iPad device. You will not need to create an account to use this app. All of your Procreate data is tied to your iPad and your Apple ID. YOUTUBE: My lesson videos will be uploaded and shared in the Outschool classroom as a YouTube link. However, Outschool will automatically embed the link so that learners remain on the Outschool platform and don’t access the YouTube website. UNSPLASH: In this class, I will show how students can use Unsplash to find reference images to help plan out their illustrations. However, I will be providing the reference images that I'm using in the Outschool classroom so that students can follow along with me without accessing Unsplash themselves. Unsplash is a platform containing millions of beautiful, free-to-use photos gifted by photographers from around the world. The platform is designed for users 13 years or older. However, be assured that we will be searching for kid-friendly content like "animals" and "tropical leaves". Students can either use the website unsplash.com or download the iPad app. Students will not be required to create an Unsplash account to search for, view, or download images. However, if students would like to save images within "Collections" on Unsplash, they will have to create an account. If students would like to create a different illustration alongside my demonstration videos, they will need to find and download their own reference images to use. Students can use any search platform to find their own reference images. However, Unsplash is the best free-to-use platform I've found. CANVA: I will be using Canva.com to demonstrate how to use self-created artwork in designs that can then be printed on a variety of home goods, apparel, and accessories. Canva is a free and easy-to-use graphic design platform that is accessible via your web browser. No software download is required. Although Canva can be used without creating an account, I highly recommend creating one so that you can save your designs. Canva also has apps for editing on your smartphone or tablet available on iOS and Android. Canva has a paid, Pro version, but I will do my demonstrations using the free version. PADLET: Learners will be encouraged to post their artwork to our "Procreate Digital Art Showcase" hosted on Padlet.com! Think of it like a collaborative art gallery where students can show off their work and encourage their peers. Through frequent moderation, I will ensure it remains a safe and encouraging space. Learners can post anonymously without an account. However, I recommend that you create an account so that others know whose artwork is being posted and so that you can be notified of any post comments.
Requisitos previos
If you are new to the Procreate app or would like to learn some basic skills before enrolling in this course, I recommend checking out my "Intro to Procreate for Beginners" class first.
Lista de útiles escolares
✔️ iPad: The Procreate app is currently only available on the iPad.
✔️ Up to date Procreate app: This is $12.99 in the App Store, but well worth the investment.
✔️ Apple Pencil: I highly recommend using an Apple Pencil for best results and pressure sensitivity when drawing. However, any stylus can be used or even your finger.
