In this class, students will practice their acting skills each week through scene work and monologues. Students will also be given the opportunity to participate in theatre games if there is time. Students will learn some terminology used in theatre, get feedback on their monologues, and discuss their pieces in the context of shows. This class will be highly interactive, with students not only performing each week, but also having the opportunity to discuss the shows and monologues they've picked with each other. Some weeks may involve lecture elements if we are talking about specific shows. Our schedule will be as follows: Section 1 (Wednesdays at 2:00PM EST) 11/25 - Greek Week: Medea 12/2 - Shakespeare Monologues of Choice 12/9 - Comedy Scene Work 12/16 - Greek Week: Antigone 12/23 - Shakespeare Dramatic Scene Work 12/30 - Contemporary Monologues of Choice **All students must have a working camera and microphone. Please read the parental guidance section before enrolling. Students will be encouraged to give each other constructive feedback at specific times during this class. Students need to be at the maturity level where they can receive feedback. Students will not be allowed to critique each other's show/monologue choices. Expectations for feedback will be clearly explained when students are expected and allowed to give feedback.**
