****Parents, please note that this is the same class offered in my Multi-Day Dog Man Summer Camp. If your learner has already taken the summer camp class or is enrolled in the camp for a future date, this will be a duplicate class. Please only enroll if you are interested in taking this class a second time. I will not refund or prorate the summer camp for duplicate classes. Thank you!

Calling all Dog Man fans!! Are you ready to play our very own Dog Man board game?! Join me for some SUPA fun math!

In this one-time class, students will complete a math themed board game to help rescue Dog Man's friends. Grampa has captured his friends, and we must complete the board game to save them. Students will engage in a short discussion of their favorite Dog Man books before working together to complete our board game.

Students will begin class with an introductory activity. They are encouraged to bring their favorite Dog man book or toy to class. This can be a book, a picture, their own drawing, or whatever else they would love to share!

Next, we will begin our board game, which is 6 different levels. The completion of each level will rescue another one of Dog Man's friends. The game consists of a total of 30 questions. The questions are separated into different types of math problems. Students should have basic knowledge of shapes, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and fractions for this game. If your child is not confident in these areas, that's okay too. I am happy to help guide them and give tips and tricks along the way to keep class fun and engaging. I do my best to ensure children do not feel left out or discouraged. I also give students the option of answering independently. They will never be put on the spot or expected to know every detail. I keep class fun and encouraging! The questions are geared towards Dog Man and include some humor to help students have fun while learning! Some of the questions are meant to be a challenge, so we have an opportunity to work together as a class to solve these.

Level 1 will practice geometry/shape math problems.
Level 2 will practice addition math problems.
Level 3 will practice subtraction math problems.
Level 4 will practice fraction math problems.
Level 5 will practice multiplication math problems.
Level 6 will practice fun puzzles and word math problems.

The math problems are appropriate for 2nd-3rd graders (ages 7-9) but I am happy to help you decide if this may be a good fit for your child. If you have questions regarding difficulty or placement, please send me a message, and I will gladly give more details and help assess. :)

In my class, students will practice communication, reading, listening, computer, and social skills. I strive to make each class fun and interacting. Learning with toys and something the students enjoy is a great way to make class fun. Students will each have an equal opportunity to speak and ask questions as needed. It is recommended that students have previously read at least one of the Dog Man series books. This will ensure they understand the characters and humor and that they will have the best time possible in the class! together! Parents, if you have questions about this class, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I am happy to help!

Hello parents! Welcome to my Outschool classroom! I am so excited for the opportunity to meet and teach your child.

My name is Shelbi, and I live in Colorado, USA! I am an outdoor enthusiast and adventurer, avid reader, animal lover, and you can catch me in the kitchen any day of the week! Just as much as I love teaching, I also love learning! I am happily married, and I am the mother of a 9-year-old boy and 3-year-old girl.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Business & Marketing and an Associate of Arts. I am a volunteer for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and absolutely love working with children in the foster care system. Though most of my classes are geared for children ages 3-10, I enjoy teaching children of all ages! I have ten years of experience teaching a variety of topics and ages. I developed and implemented custom preschool and prekindergarten curriculum and worked as a private tutor for children in elementary, middle, and high school. I have over a year & 2,000 classes of experience teaching English as a second language online. I am well-versed in using online platforms & modern technology to teach, and I utilize many engaging activities for my students!

Having children of my own and watching them develop and learn ignited a light in my heart for teaching. I have a growing passion for helping children learn about the world around us! My goal as a teacher is to nurture a child's inquisitive mind through exploration and adventure. Learning through exploration helps children develop independence and self-confidence, a goal-oriented attitude, collaboration skills, the ability to ask good, productive questions, and so many other valuable traits! Exploration also promotes curiosity and the discovery of special interests, eliminating the fear of failure in many children!

I teach all things fun! We can learn something valuable from anything around us! I love to use current trends, hobbies, and special interests as a way to motivate and encourage students. Children in my class will be given the opportunity to ask questions, interact, sing, and dance, and my classes will always include activities to let their personalities shine! My classes involve fun, customized content. We will use your child's favorite books, animals, or movies to learn new things. I teach about animals, books, culture, food, crafts, reading, and so much more!

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I am so excited to meet your child, and I hope you enjoy my classes! :)

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Parents, I follow Outschool's limited refund policy. Please read the cancellation policy before enrollment. With a limited refund policy, you are entitled to a full refund until a week in advance, or within 24 hours of purchase (until class starts). I do not refund for missed classes and do not provide partial or prorated refunds. I am a parent myself and try to be understanding of emergencies. Please contact me before class if there is an issue or you will be missing class. I am unable to transfer your child after the class has taken place. Please ensure you are enrolling for the correct day and time.

This class must meet the minimum enrollment to avoid cancellation. If this class does not reach the minimum enrollment, I will reach out to parents to transfer/refund your learner. If the class is cancelled by me due to the minimum enrollment not being met, you WILL receive a full refund from Outschool. If it decided (by parent AND teacher) to continue this class without the minimum enrollment, you will not be refunded.

SIBLING ENROLLMENTS:

If you have multiple children wanting to take this class, you must purchase an enrollment for each student. Students can share a device only if there is an enrollment purchased for each child. Outschool does not allow children to be in class or be on camera if they do not have a purchased enrollment. If this happens, I will remove your child from the main class and put them in the waiting room until only the enrolled learner is present. Please note, this is a policy created by Outschool that ensures the safety of each child in class.

__________________________________________________________________________

EXPECTATIONS FROM LEARNERS:

I will review my expectations of learners before each class.

I do not automatically mute students at the beginning of class. I encourage conversation and engagement and love to hear what students like to share. If, for some reason, there is background or other distracting noise from your child's device, I will kindly ask them to mute themselves until it is time to talk. If they do not/are not able to mute themselves, I will help them with this function. If the learner continues to unmute themselves causing distraction to the other learners, I will place them in the waiting room until the sound can be resolved. This has rarely happened in my classes, and students are usually very understanding of the mute function. This will help all learners have a great class and participate fully. Parents, if you prefer to have your child muted the entire class, that is okay too. You may decide to do this at any time.

I do not tolerate name-calling, inappropriate words or behavior, or bullying in my classes. Your child will be removed from class if this happens.

Learners are required to turn their camera on at the beginning of class. This is a safety feature that Outschool requires, so I can verify that it is a child/student taking the class. This ensures the safety of all students enrolled. If your child wishes to turn their camera off after verification, they are able to do so. I do my best to make students comfortable in the classroom, and I understand that not every learner wants to be on camera the entire class. For any verification questions, please contact Outschool.

Thank you so much for reading my expectations and policies. I hope to see your child in class for a super fun time!
