Tarea
1 hora por semana. Learners will need to take up to two photographs each class and present them in class. This is strictly to practice the technique learned in the previous class and get encouragement from our classmates. Photographers LOVE to look at pictures! We’re here to uplift and encourage to be the best we can be!

Do you love taking pictures? Always looking for the perfect shot? Many people love taking pictures, but sometimes don’t know these simple tips to really make their work standout. In this course, we’ll learn simple tips to use with any camera by getting better at seeing the things in front of you. 

Each class will consist of the follow:
Introduction and ice breaker question or review question
Share work from previous class(project critique and encouragement!!!)
Presentation on simple tips to improve your photos
Examples
Review past tips
Homework assignment(take a picture using the tip we learned in class)

Topics for each class:

**PRIOR TO WEEK 1 CLASS** Send Miss Lindsay your favorite photo you've taken so we can share it with the class and talk about why we love it!

Week 1 (1/6-10) -
Introductions/Sharing your favorite photo you’ve taken/What makes a great photograph?

Week 2 (1/13-17) -
Photo share/critique + Composition 1: rule of thirds/leading lines
Project: Use the Rule of Thirds

Week 3 (1/20-24) -
Photo share/critique + Composition 2: depth/perspective
Project: Capture a photo with depth and perspective

Week 4 (1/27-31) -
Photo share/critique + Composition 3: framing
Project: Capture a photo using natural framing

Week 5 (2/3-7) -
Photo share/critique + Composition 4: Background
Project: Capture a photo with a unique background

Week 6 (2/10-14) -
Photo share/critique + Composition 5: center/negative space
Project: Capture a photo with negative space

Week 7 (2/17-21) - 
Photo share/critique + Lighting 1: natural light
Project: Capture a photo in natural light

Week 8 (2/24-28) -
Photo share/critique + Lighting 2: indoor light/flash
Project: Capture a photo using indoor light or flash

Week 9 (3/3-7) -
Photo share/critique +  Lighting 3: directional light, how to use the light you’re given, Project: Photo Every Hour

Week 10 (3/10-14) -
Photo share/critique + Colors and contrast
Project: Capture a colorful or contrasty photo

Week 11 (3/24-28) -
Photo share/critique + Portrait Photography
Project: Capture a portrait

Week 12 (3/31-4/4) -
Photo share/critique + Landscape Photography
Project: Capture a landscape scene

Week 13 (4/7-11) -
Photo share/critique + Architecture Photography
Project: Capture an architecture scene

Week 14 (4/21-25)-
Photo share/critique + Sports Photography
Project: Capture a sports scene

Week 15 (4/28-5/2) -
Photo share/critique + Documentary Photography
Project: Document life!

Week 16 (5/5-9) -
Photo share/critique + What was your favorite photo you took this year? What is your favorite technique to use? What do you like photographing? What do you plan to photograph next?



***Any camera will do! Phone, iPad, point and shoot or DSLR. Camera settings and buttons will not be discussed. This class is simply, how to use the things around you to create stunning and captivating photographs. Obviously the quality of photo will greatly depend on the camera, BUT the concepts and tips just depend on your moving around, composing and using the light you have! I promise, it’s in the EYE!

This class is inclusive to unique learning needs(Dyslexia, Anxiety, ADHD, ADD). Teacher is neurodiverse (Anxiety/ADHD) and works primarily with student with learning needs.
Orientación para padres
Parents should review the photographs that their learner will be presenting in class. Please use discretion in what you share in class. Learner must submit their photograph to the teacher prior to class to avoid any discretionary material.
Requisitos previos
Learner should know how to snap a picture with whichever camera option they have. This class does not teach technical skills of any individual camera but basic composition, color, and photo theory.

Miss Lindsay has been a professional photographer for the last 14 years. Running a small, independent business with hundreds of clients. Miss Lindsay took one year of photography classes and then was exclusively self taught. Her work focuses on portrait work, but she enjoys taking pictures of all things. She now exclusively teaches photography and structured literacy(BS in Elementary Ed).
