📜🎲 This class is meant to teach the basics and general rules of the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition tabletop system in a beginner/child-friendly way without the need to read through mountains of text or dwell on technical jargon. 🐉 We will cover aspects such as character creation, roleplaying and general gameplay flow of an average session. 💻🎲 I'll be using a website named Roll20 for a visual aid since it serves as a platform for online virtual tabletop games. 🗺️ I will do my outmost best to make sure everyone is learning at the same pace and everyone is on the same page, constantly asking questions and keeping the flow of the class steady, but also making sure that the learners are not getting overwhelmed. 📜 I encourage learners to ask as many questions as they can and will even ask for them to help me when I need to explain an aspect of the game through an example. Should any learner have a degree of experience with a specific topic, I encourage them to assist me when answering a question regarding it. ✅ I recommend taking my Character Creation & Basic Rules Class prior to starting this weekly class if you need to build your character. ✅ There is no specific experience needed to take this class, I'll make sure to structure it and pace it in such a way that anyone, regardless of prior experience to D&D can feel welcome and follow along, being able to gain knowledge out of it. ✅ Class Continuity: As this is intended to be a continuous course where we'll be working towards the completion of a "campaign", the sessions follow a continuity and serve to build upon each other. Any new enrollments into the class are assumed to have knowledge to navigate character creation on their own
Metas de aprendizaje
-Students will learn how to engage with the hobby of D&D and play it in a way that is entertaining and enriching for them
-Students will learn how to use their imagination and creativity to work with both the Game Master and the other players to shape a great experience at the game table.

Necesidades de aprendizaje
D&D can be molded to allow people with Dyslexia and ADHD to engage in a way that works for them.
I'm following guidelines done by professionals as well as feedback from previous neurodivergent players to accommodate for everyone.
Orientación para padres
I recommend taking my Character Creation & Basic Rules Class prior to starting this weekly class if you need to build your character.
D&D, being a tabletop system based on the idea of guided adventures in a world of spell and sorcery, contains certain levels of potential violence through it's combat system. A warrior doing a sword slash or a wizard shooting a spell often has consequences for the target of such.
This, plus the fact that the game's world is made through the joint efforts of the players and DM, means that all should be in agreement as to what should be and what shouldn't be present in their gaming environment beyond the combat element.
Though this is more applicable for a long-term game, I often use a series of TTRPG Safety Tools to ensure the comfort of my players. A quick rundown of what these entail can be found here: https://startplaying.games/blog/posts/startplaying-safety-tools-explained-how-to
Requisitos previos
No prior experience with either D&D or the Roll20 online platform is required, though it is a big plus.
Any new enrollments into the class are assumed to have knowledge to navigate character creation on their own.
