In this two-day fun country study, students will love learning all about England. We will begin with a video introducing the sights of England. The students will use their printable interactive notebook to document their findings along the way. During the second class, the students will have the opportunity to make a tea time craft. The students will learn about key facts (geography and capital city), the English flag and food, some English lingo (basic words), and Famous landmarks (Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, London Bridge and Stonehenge). I will also share an easy English recipe for tea cakes. I will facilitate learning by providing knowledgeable stimulation through PowerPoint presentations, primary sources, example props (I have an English teacup and saucer to share), asking questions, providing ethical and respectful options, and resources for further student inquiry. I will foster interactions between the student and content, other students, and myself. Day 1: Students will learn about: • UK Geography • England’s Geography • England’s Flag • English Food • Talking like an Englishman (with English phrases and translation) • Transportation • Big Ben & London Bridge • Stonehenge Day 2: Students will learn about: • Buckingham Palace • The Queen • Afternoon Tea (tea cup and saucer to share) • Make a tea time craft • The students can share their finished crafts with the class.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I am a certified Social Studies teacher and I taught 7th grade Social Studies/World History. I have been teaching different subjects for 8 years. I have a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences-Education from Pennsylvania State University. This is where I took multiple researched-based classes and coursework in European History, World History, Cultural Geography and World Reginal Geography. More recently, I have been reading a book series based in Scotland and the history teacher in me can't help but learn more. I have been reading many books on the history and culture of United Kingdom and England, as well as watching documentaries about the topic. Most importantly, I have a passion for teaching social studies and science and I enjoy incorporating reading and math skills into these topics!
