Are your kids fascinated with animation and storytelling? Do they love to draw and create their own characters? If so, our Digital Animation and Stortelling - Art Club is the perfect way to unleash their creativity and learn new skills! In this eight session course, kids in grades 4th - 8th will learn about digital arts and the techniques used to animate their own creations. Our experienced instructors will guide them through the process of bringing their ideas to life through hands-on learning and interactive activities. No prior experience is necessary! All skill levels are welcome. Our student-centered approach focuses on collaborative projects, where learners will have the opportunity to work with each other, develop teamwork and communication skills, and share their creative ideas. Throughout the course, students will explore the basics of animation and storytelling, including story boarding and outlining. They will learn how to animate objects in motion and the process needed to animate a short clip. They will also understand how to use the basic tools needed to produce digital 2D animation and demonstrate a basic understanding of taking a concept to reality. Our teaching style combines different elements such as lecture, games, slides, and discussions, ensuring that learners get the most out of each session. Our goal is to foster a fun and engaging learning environment that inspires creativity and curiosity. Week 1 - Learn how to use the Flipaclip interface. Create a simple free draw animation to become familiar with the software. Learn about frame rate and squash and stretch techniques. Week 2 - Learn about storyboards, brainstorming, and scope and scale. Keeping our story short and simple. Start creating your project Week 3 - Using our storyboards continue working on animating our projects in FlipaClip Work with key frames, timelines to move characters. Week 4 - Add background scenes to your animation week 5, 6 and 7 - Add more details to your animations Week 8 - Put final touches and see your story come to life. Share your projects with the group. At the end of the course, learners will have gained valuable skills and experience in digital animation, as well as increased confidence in their creative abilities. They will be able to create their own unique animations that they can be proud of and share with their family and friends.

During the class, students will have the opportunity to explore their creativity using the FlipaClip app on an iPad. To access this exciting tool, they simply need to download the $10 FlipaClip app, which does not require an account. FlipaClip is an excellent animation software that is both user-friendly and a fantastic medium for sharing your artistic creations.
They should also have a stylus to create their art.
