We are going to have some fun in this Descendants Themed Jazz class. Class will begin with an energetic warm up that includes active stretching both standing as well as on the floor. Movements include jumping jacks and floor stretches.  Possibly working toward splits and straddles. Jazz technique movements will then be taught. Basic moves such as Isolations, Jazz Square, Pivot Turn, 3-Step Turn, and Battement. The class concludes with fun choreography which puts together what has been taught in class, all to popular Descendants music.  No experience necessary, just be ready to have fun!  By the end of class your leaner will have part of a fun routine to show off.

Orientación para padres

Please be sure your learner has an open space for moving, free of obstacles. Sneakers or barefoot and comfortable/stretchy clothing is recommended. Long hair should be pulled up. A water bottle is always great.

Licenciatura desde Manhattanville Colege

I have been teaching all forms of dance for 32 years!  I am a 1991 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Manhattanville College with a minor in Dance.  While there, I focused on Jazz, Ballet, and Modern.  I even performed in the Soviet Union in 1989!  

I opened my dance school at the age of 23 and still love it! I teach all ages Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe and Modern.  My true specialty is Jazz.  I love the energy and unique creativity available though Jazz Dance.

Dance class is more than just "dance".  It teaches grace, poise, discipline and self confidence. All qualities that will benefit a student in all areas of their lives.

I have been happily married for 24 years and have a 19 year old son who is a sophmore at Fairfield University. He even competed in Jazz and Hip Hop until 7th grade when soccer took over!

I'm looking forward to sharing my knowledge and love of dance with the Outschool Community.
