I will be teaching Grade 8 Math.  

I will be using the Share Screen feature on Zoom so students are encouraged to provide their share their responses using a stylus, in the chat or using a drawing tablet. Completion of Grade 7 is required for the Grade 8 section. Please note, this is an accelerated curriculum.

covers: slope, slope intercept equation, write the slope intercept equation, word problems

Week of (Jan 20) Unit 5 Graphing Linear Equations
covers: horizontal and vertical lines, standard form, parallel and perpendicular lines, review, unit 5 test 

Week of (Jan 27) Unit 6 Irrational Numbers and the Pythagorean Theorem 
covers: square roots, irrational numbers, cube roots and approximation of irrational numbers, decimals to fractions
 
Week (Feb 3) Unit 6 Irrational Numbers and the Pythagorean Theorem 
covers: square and roots as solutions to equations, more equations that involve roots, word problems, Pythagorean theorem
 
Week (Feb 10) Unit 6 Irrational Numbers and the Pythagorean Theorem 
covers: application of Pythagorean theorem, word problems, proof of Pythagorean theorem and its converse
