Traditional Penmanship: Cursive Writing Focus Students will learn cursive writing through Teacher's direct-instructions, modeling, and independent practice of cursive writing from information and worksheet provided. Week One: Mastering the Alphabet: Students will 1."Learn the correct pencil grip to maximize comfort, neatness, and ease of writing in cursive. 2. Memorize capital letter cursive formations using repeated descriptive cues. 3. Memorize lower case cursive letter formations using repeated descriptive cues. 4. Be able to form words not yet practiced in the curriculum, such as writing first and last name, in cursive using correct letter formations. The student will. "Begin to master cursive letter formations: become comfortable arranging letters into a variety of words. Increase speed and accuracy of writing with cursive. Begin to build muscle memory and hand strength to be able to write fluently across subjects and assignments. Grow comfortable reading passages written in cursive." Selective Capital Cursive, Small Cursive, Random Words, and Reading of Paragraph written in Cursive - 100 points." Week Two: Buiding Hand Strength 1. Students continue to perfect letter formations, connections, and word spacing. 2. Gain fluency in reading passages written in cursive. 3. Build muscle strength in hands to be able to easily, neatly, and quickly write longer passages in cursive." Students will continue to master proper pencil grip, posture, and paper positioning for neat and quick cursive writing. Master letter formations. Students should begin to show individual handwriting traits, but should still form their letters neatly and precisely. 3. Feel comfortable completing most or all of their assignments in cursive. Be able to form words not yet practiced in the curriculum, such as writing first and last name, in cursive using correct letter formations. Have developed good hand strength sufficient for completing varied passage lengths, while maintaining the neatness and correct letter formation. Be able to read fluently in cursive. Use proper letter and word spacing without prompts or tools. Conclusion:Students will copy one passage per week four-lesson or as many as the student can complete during penmanship time while maintaining neatness and correctness.

I am certified to teach history in two United States- New York and California. I hold a Master's Degree in Education and undergraduate degree in Public Administration. I am an expert in classroom management and student achievement.
