🧩WEEKLY CLUB MEETINGS 🧩 - BRING YOUR CUBES AND JOIN ANYTIME!!!
Each week we will meet for 30 minutes to share in our common passion for all things cubing. Club members will share tips for solving cubes, actively work to solve their own cubes during class time, will share struggles and successes during class discussions, and will provide peer support for each other to help members learn and grow as cube solvers. Depending on the class size, we may open optional breakout rooms for students to break into smaller focus groups to race, work on other cubes, or share tips. Breakout rooms may be differentiated by level at times as well.

Did you know that it is estimated that "less than 5.8% of the world's population can solve the Rubik's Cube?" That means just 1 out of every 20 people with a Cube can actually solve it!

Did you also know that there are over 43 quintillion possible configurations of the Cube? That is 43 with 18 zeros after it! (43,000,000,000,000,000,000)

I truly believe in the value of learning to solve cube puzzles like the traditional Rubik's cube. It requires problem solving, critical thinking, focus, and memory. In this club, we will exercise these skills in a fun social environment with a community of other cube solvers.

This class is meant to be a group learning environment for cube solving. Students are encouraged to bring any traditional (3x3), or non-traditional cubes that they may have to club meetings. There are no structured lessons provided, but instead will be student driven and designed to facilitate peer sharing of strategies and solutions.

I have been a licensed elementary school teacher since 2012. I taught grades K, 1, 4, 5, and 6 in the public education system in Hawaii. During 2020, when schools moved to distance learning as a safety precaution, I learned that I enjoyed teaching online and that it was well suited to some of my students too! In 2021, my family moved to Idaho and I began teaching on Outschool. One of my favorite things about teaching online is meeting students from all around the world!

I was born to 2nd generation immigrant families. My father's side is Japanese-American, and my mother's side is Filipino-American. Hawaii is very multi-cultural place so being born and raised there makes me truly appreciate different cultures, food, and places.

My teaching style is engaging, interactive, and very relational. I feel that positive human connection cultivates an environment for optimum learning.

My favorite subjects to learn, and to teach, are Science, Math, Art, Engineering, and Philosophy. I love learning new methods, exploring new ideas, and tackling new challenges.
