Escritura creativa: estructura, estrategias y más - Flex

Calling all writers - struggling and thriving alike! Do you have a struggling writer who needs support with improving their structure and/or creativity? Or, is your writer thriving and would like an opportunity to continue perfecting their work? Well, this is the class for you! With 1:1 guidance and support from me, this course is designed for writers to learn about and practice going through an entire writing process. 

Students will be watching videos of me teaching the lessons below AND they will see me going through the entire writing process along with them. Throughout the course, I will be reviewing each students' work and providing them with direct feedback and guidance. 

The writing process that we will go through is as follows:
Week 1 - Introduction to realistic fiction & brainstorming topic ideas.
Week 2 - Choosing a topic & planning and developing the storyline.
Week 3 - Developing and drafting the beginning.
Week 4 - Drafting and learning about strategies to improve writing.
Week 5 - Editing & revising.
Week 6 - Celebrating.

All of these lessons will be on a Google Slides and each student will receive their own copy. This way, they can follow along, have their own working space, and go back to previous lessons as needed. 

The class structure will be similar each class. First, I will teach and model about the topic at hand. Then, learners will work on the assignment of the day (see above).  At the end of each class, students will have the opportunity to share any questions with me and prior to the end of each week, I will review their work and offer suggestions and advice.  During the editing and revising stages, students will share their work with another classmate and the classmate will offer suggestions and revision ideas. At the very end of our 6 weeks, we will hold a virtual writing celebration where students will share their work and celebrate their success by commenting on other's writing pieces via Flipgrid. 

Whenever I teach, I work to ensure that my lessons are engaging, clear, concise, thorough and fun! I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable with a teacher and are enjoying themselves.  

I will be teaching with the expectation that students have experience with developing sentences.
