Now back to our regularly scheduled programming... Your student is invited to the Online Creative Writing Camp! 📝 Where each day students will dive into a lesson steeped in creative writing. 🎨 Each lesson will begin with a vocabulary word related to the reading and writing topic. 📚 After that, students will engage in a mini lesson on the creative task of the day – for example, one day will be dedicated to poetry, so students will receive a mini lesson on poems. 🌟 Then, students will be provided with a creative writing task to write about extensively and co-edit with a student partner. 🤝 As students work, I will drop in to check progress and provide feedback as well. 🕵️♂️ Students will then share their work – if they are comfortable doing so – with the class. 🎤 Students will also have time to work in small groups or pairs to provide each other constructive feedback on their writing. 🤝 I will provide them with a handout to guide their feedback. 📄 Some examples of things they will check for are spelling, punctuation, and writerly voice! 🎯 Because the reading and writing process is recursive, students will also read in this camp. 📖 Examples of model writing help students become better writers themselves. 🌟 Students are invited to complete writing tasks outside of class and receive feedback on a one-on-one basis via direct message. 📌 This allows the student to receive feedback in a manner that respects the process. 🌱 This camp requires three students to start so invite your friends or sign up as a family group!
