Responding to writing prompts is an important skill, but it can be challenging for students. Prompt writing is when students are provided with a clear, specific topic to write about. For instance, “Write about your favorite holiday.” This is a skill that students will use throughout their school careers, as well as their entire lives! Structure of Class: -Teacher models coming up with ideas: teacher thinks aloud so students hear step-by-step process (1-2 minutes) -Teacher models planning process: teacher thinks out loud and writes down some planning notes (3-5 minutes) -Teacher models putting thoughts down on paper (3-5 minutes) -Students write their stories (25 minutes) -Students share their stories (3 minutes)

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I am an American xteacher and love teaching reading and writing skills to children from all over the world! I worked for VIP Kid, taught English in international primary schools for 15+ years, and started my own afterschool literacy program called Whiz Kids International. I have a bachelor’s degree in French, a credential to teach English as a foreign language (CTEFL) from Georgetown University, and a master’s degree from the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University. I am passionate about encouraging and supporting children to believe in their abilities and reach their full potential. When I am not teaching, I spend time with my husband, nine year old daughter and our dog named Teddy (Bear).
