I have received years of training in art from the time that I was young through private art lessons. I later went on to receive my Bachelor of Fine Arts in college. I continue to practice artwork in my home studio, and have taught art lessons to students of all ages over the past six years. Creative Journaling is a practice I've seen other artists use and I recently have developed a method that is unique and works great for me. I hope to pass it on to others for their benefit, or help learners find their own creative method that will work for them. My goal is always to encourage learners to do what works for them, and keeps them GROWING in their creativity.
This class is great for kids with ADHD, and Dyslexia. It is a tool that can help them feel empowered in the area of self-expression, and relieve the tension they feel from other areas of academic disciplines such as writing and reading.
There are no prerequisites. I will create assessment on the first day to meet the student where they are in skill-level.
1) A hand-held size Sketchbook
-There are no specific size requirements, but a sketchbook that can easily be carried in
hand or in a book bag is highly suggested. You want a book that you can take with you
    wherever you go.

2) 3-5 Pencils
-These don't have to be anything fancy. A regular mechanical pencil will do.

3) 3-5 ballpoint BLACK Pens.
-The common "Bic" brand will work just fine

4) A set of 24-32 colored Pencils

5) A set of watercolor paints.
-I personally work with tubes and a pan. This is what I prefer, but you are welcome to get
try the watercolor cake pans if you would like to. Whatever is most available to you.

6) A variety of 8-10 watercolor brushes

7) A Spray bottle (for your paint)

8) Cup of water for rinsing paint brushes

You may also want to have paper towels or a rag of some sort handy when working with watercolor paint.
The first five weeks of his ten week class are specifically designed to be simple. Learners will only be required to have basic supplies such as a sketchbook and pencils with erasers. The sketchbook should be a small-medium size, with a story-book binding. Spiral binding is great, but it isn't a must.
No special resources are required
