Writing is both an expression of creativity, and a skill to be developed. A successful writer requires mastery in over a range of interrelated competencies, including sentence construction, paragraph development, essay structuring, editing and refinement, as well as the creation of tone and mood, semantic resonances, historical allusions, utilizing literary forms and tropes, and more. I am the author of three full-length academic books, and numerous book chapters and academic articles. I am also an editor for three academic anthologies in popular culture studies that bring together the writings of myself and other scholars. In addition, I am an editor for the Studies in Graphic Religion series at McFarland Books, which focused on academic engagements with comics, popular culture, and religious studies. I also have a PhD in Religious Studies from McGill University.
