Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Hello! My name is Miss Allison. I am the Director of a local nonprofit preschool and currently teach a mixed aged preschool class. have been an early childhood educator for 12+ years. I graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish. Later I took classes at Morningside College to earn my endorsement in Early Childhood Education. While most of my classes will focus on preschool and early elementary students, I would love to share my experience and knowledge with older students that are interested in working with young children.
I believe children learn best through PLAY. During our sessions I will keep things fun and engaging for young students and class sizes small so there is not a lot of wait time in turn-taking. I love having discussions and value children’s thoughts and ideas.
I also love to cook and bake; it's definitely one of my love languages. I love to make healthy food delicious and accessible for everyone.
I am a mom of 3 kiddos all with their own special gifts and abilities. My husband and I enjoy building things out of wood, and I also enjoy drawing, coloring, painting, needle felting, and wood burning (basically all crafts). As a family, we love being outside and enjoying nature!
I am currently only teaching FLEX classes through the school year because I am taking a class myself (always learning). You may always request a start date for any of my FLEX classes and I will try my best to accommodate that.
