This course is designed to boost your child's self-esteem, confidence, and verbal and non-verbal communication. I am a strong believer in learning through play and my teaching style reflects that. I will provide many powerful games and activities that kids will enjoy participating in, along with strengthening their communication skills. In this class, I will facilitate a safe and comfortable environment, where students can express themselves freely. They will also feel safe enough to challenge themselves and one another to take risks and get out of their comfort zone, enabling them to cultivate a growth mindset. If you are aware of my Level 2 course, each class consists of giving students a role to complete and present. For example, one student takes on the role of being a host, where they introduce themself, welcome the members and thank them for joining. Since those aspects of my level 2 class have been highly appreciated, they will also be included in my level 3 course. However, the roles are now amped up to a higher level! In addition to roles, this class consists of exciting assignments and games! Who is this course for? - Students who have some experience in public speaking. - Students who like to challenge themselves and learn all the aspects of public speaking at an early age. **Note Your child does NOT need to have completed my level 1 or 2 courses to join it. "Confidence comes from hours and weeks and years of constant work and dedication."- Robert Staubach
A warm welcome to you! My name is Aasiyah (Aa-see-yah) and a short form for it is Siya (see-ya). I go by the gender pronoun of she/her. I am a certified communication and confidence coach and I am beyond excited to share my expertise with you!
I believe that the best education you can give a child is the education of building confidence, emotional intelligence and communication skills. I believe that these life skills are important for all ages and even more valuable than subjects taught in school. This is exactly why I do what I do. I believe confidence exists in every child and I act as a catalyst to help them find it and strengthen it. My aim is to enable each child to reach their highest potential.
Good communication skills and confidence is more than just a skill. It is a mindset and a lifestyle. Having healthy communication strategies helps children better their mental health, hold more positive relationships, be more empathetic and take on challenges in a much easier way. This is why I always provide a holistic approach in my teachings. Each child has their own unique needs and this is why I always provide individualized lesson plans and teachings to my students.
In addition to being a confidence and communications coach, I also hold a degree in psycholinguistics from The University of Toronto. Secondly, I am a Mental Health and Addictions student. I have over 8 years of experience working with children of all kinds. Also, I am a certified emotional intelligence practitioner, public speaking facilitator, mindfulness practitioner and an acceptance and commitment therapy practitioner. I also hold a TESOL certificate and teach online English to students in China.
Philosophy:
I am a strong believer in "learning through play". This is why you will notice that my classes are always filled with fun learning games. I also make my classes as interactive as possible, where kids can role-play situations that can be applicable in real life. Lastly, I take high priority on providing my students with a safe and comfortable place where they can be themselves and grow.
Some other fun facts about me:
1. I am a dancer and a performer.
2. My favorite color is pink.
3. I LOVE DIY projects.
4. My favourite ice cream is unicorn sparkle.
5. I have an obsession with shoes.
That's a little bit about me. Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. If you have any further questions and/or inquiries, please feel free to reach out to me!
