1 hora por semana. Students will be given worksheets to print out after the class to reinforce their learning. Because this class meets once, this is optional and they have the choice to send their homework to me to look over. They will get a vocabulary list that goes over everything they have studied.Evaluación
I do not routinely give an assessment at the end of the class. However, if a student or parent would like an assessment, they may request one by emailing me.Experiencia de clase
With a little bit of experimenting, I have combined two learning methods into one, both to help the learner succeed and master the Japanese language and understand the Japanese culture. This class is designed to help the student become fluent in Japanese and to understand the culture behind not only the language but also the people. I will first put the student into a situation and then give them sentences to respond to those situations. The sentences will then be broken down into vocabulary and grammar. Each lesson will focus on one or two grammar points with more situations as examples. In this lesson, they will also learn the next five letters of the Japanese alphabet. In this lesson, students will be able to: Week 1: 1. Asking how old someone is 2. Tell how to love and hate something 3. Talk about inanimate objects 4. Learn about た, ち, つ, て, と Week 2: 1. Learn how to talk about living objects (imasu) 2. Learn how to talk about doing an action (to eat, drink etc.) 3. Learn how to ask about doing an action (do you eat pizza? Do you sleep?) 4. Learn about the alphabet letters だ、で、ど Week 3: 1. Learn how to talk about going places (using the verb to go) 2. Learn how to use the Japanese word for this (what's this) 3. Big review over what we have learned (including to go, to have, question words (what, when why) 5. Learn about the Japanese alphabet (な, に, ぬ, ね, の) Week 4: 1. Learn how to use the Japanese word for this (what's this) 2. Learn how to ask questions using the masu stem of a verb. 3. Learn about the Japanese alphabet (は、ひ、ふ、へ、ほ) Week 5: 1. Big review of the lesson we have learned so far - (existence of inanimate objects using aru) - (using the masu stem of verbs) - (using when in a sentence) - (how to make questions in Japanese using ka) 2. Go in more detail how to introduce yourself -Using where you are from. -What grade you are in. -How talk about your job -Learning the different formalities of Japanese 3. Learn how to write the hiragana letters (な、に、ぬ、ね、の) You will get all three in one-course culture, language and the writing, probably something other classes do not delve into. There is a pre-requisite. You will need to know parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 of this class. You will enjoy the powerpoint slides and optional homework. We will study in an upbeat intereactive way, something you do not want to miss.
