The Assessment will be an informal assessment observed during the Japanese trivia game at the end of class.Experiencia de clase
1. What will be taught? Traveling to a different country can be intimidating. That is why I will be teaching about Japanese culture to prepare and inform students who are interested in Japan or might be traveling there in the near future. I currently live in Japan, so I will be incorporating all my knowledge on Japanese culture. I have taken classes on cooking Japanese foods, language classes in Japanese, and visited various places in Japan. I have also spent countless hours talking to the local Japanese people in my community. 2. What topics will I cover in class? This will be a basic course over learning some basic phrases in Japanese. I will also be showing students pictures from my time in Japan. I have pictures from Kyoto, Tokyo, and Okinawa. I will show them some different things in my Japanese home, such as a shower room. Students will also get to learn about Japanese foods. I will show them some foods that I buy from the local Japanese market, and which ones are my favorite. I will teach students how to say hello, goodbye, okay, good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and excuse me in Japanese. Students will get to see and experience things that they might encounter in Japan. This will hopefully make them feel more comfortable. 3. How will my class be structured? Students will get to interact with myself and other students by playing a Japanese culture trivia game towards the end of class about everything they have learned. There is not any required knowledge that learners need to take this course. 4. What is my teaching style? My teaching style of getting students to have fun while learning content. I have found that this is the best way for students to retain information. Beginning of class: At the beginning of class students will introduce themselves and tell one random fact about themselves as an ice breaker. First: I will teach students how to say hello, goodbye, okay, good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and excuse me in Japanese. Next: I will have pictures from Kyoto, Tokyo, and Okinawa of different places to show students and talk about. Students will get to go around and ask questions at this time as well. Next: I will show them how to use chop sticks. Next: I will show students my Japanese shower room in my house. Then: I will have gyoza, sushi, Japanese candy that is my favorite, and various Japanese drinks from the vending machines you can get from throughout Japan to show students. Last: Students will get to play Japanese Trivia over the content that students learned. The questions will be: 1. How do you say Hello in Japanese? 2. How do you say good morning in Japanese? 3. How do you say good afternoon in Japanese? 4. How do you say excuse me in Japanese? 5. What is unique about a Japanese shower room? 6. How many prefectures are there in Japan?

Hello Everyone!! I have a joke for you.....
What school do you greet people in?......Hi School!:):)
I LOVE teaching! I graduated from West Texas A&M University with my bachelor's degree in elementary education. I have also acquired a masters degree in reading instruction, and am passionate about teaching kids to read. When I graduated college I taught first grade for two years in North Carolina. I have also had the opportunity to teach English online with VIPKID for a couple years. This is an ESL company based in China. This has given me experience with making learning FUN in the online environment. I have lots of tricks up my sleeve. I really enjoy teaching creative writing, so if you are interested in getting your child engaged while writing, I would love to be your teacher:) I also have two precious Corgi's named Peach and Noodle that like to make appearances in my classes as well. Students always look forward to this. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Thanks so much and I hope to meet you all soon!
