Experiencia de clase
In this four-week flexible schedule class inspired by my most popular ongoing class, learners will be exposed to music written by different composers of the Romantic Era. The course schedule is as follows: Week 1: Franz Liszt Week 2: Johannes Brahms Week 3: Frederic Chopin Week 4: Pytor Tchaikovsky They will learn about the composer's life and music through video lecture, listen to some of their most popular compositions, and engage in thoughtful discussion regarding the pieces. In addition to learning biographical information, students will learn about the baroque era in music, what makes this music unique, and different ways of discussing music such as musical mood and tempo. Learners will be provided with a coloring page and additional activities to complete each week. Learners are also encouraged to film video responses to questions asked during the lecture such as: "How does this piece make you feel?" and "Does this piece have a slow or fast tempo?" I will provide a video lecture outlining the topic of the week no later than Monday at 5pm. A YouTube playlist will also be posted in the classroom for listening activities. A packet will be provided which summarizes the content of the video lecture and includes a coloring page and additional activities such as word searches. Learners should complete their coloring page after watching the video lectures and listening to the music provided and post their pictures to the classroom no later than Friday at 5pm. A weekly Q&A thread will be available for students who have questions during their studies each week. I am also available to students through direct message and will respond to questions within 24 hours. I encourage students to interact as a class and will help facilitate classroom discussions about their favorite music, their opinions on various pieces, and other relevant topics. These additional conversation posts will be posted throughout the week and will help create a classroom environment. Finally, students will have access to a virtual classroom for additional videos, quizzes, and challenges! To see an example of a virtual classroom, please visit this link: https://tinyurl.com/y7579jnq This is a flexible schedule course, which means there are NO LIVE CLASSES. I will post materials on a weekly schedule and learners will be responsible for watching lecture videos, listening to music playlists, and posting to the classroom as they take the class. I encourage my students to get to know each other through the online classroom and welcome any questions and comments about the material at any time!
