Experiencia de clase

Wear your favorite Christmas outfit, bring some hot cocoa and a snack, and be prepared for a fun, holiday reading of Christmas books playing a Kahoot game related to the book, and ending class with a Christmas video sing-a-long! Extension activities included for each book: coloring pages, simple crafts, and snacks.

Join any time, each class highlights a new book. Have a sibling in the age range for this class? They are invited, too and I'll refund half their tuition upon enrollment.

Each Kahoot game will be directly related to the book to reinforce reading comprehension, along with one or more reading skills such as: making inferences, making predictions, sequencing, cause and effect relationships, and using context clues to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words.

--- TO PLAY KAHOOT ---
Kahoot is EASY, interactive, fun, somewhat competitive, and most kids already know how to play. Learners use their own devices, such as a phone or iPad to access the Kahoot app - OR - simply open another tab on the computer and go to kahoot.it to join the game. I will provide the game pin to type, learners create a holiday name (or use their own) to join the “reindeer games”!

Orientación para padres
“Teacher, is Santa Claus real?” I would never deny nor affirm the existence of Santa Claus, however, when asked, I respond to students the same way adults in my family answered this question for me as a child: “I believe in the spirit of Christmas and Santa is part of that belief.” This is also how I will respond to the question if students ask me, as it is my goal to keep the spirit of Christmas (and Santa) alive and well in the hearts of young and old alike.
