7 horas 30 minutos horas presencialesTarea
1 hora por semana. The students will have homework after each class. They will be asked recall and open-ended questions where they will have to apply what they learned to correctly answer the question. I ask that the students review what was what they learned every day. Optional: I ask that the students dedicate 20-30 minutes of study time each day.Evaluación
The students will be assessed as they engage in discussions and as they interact in a question-answer session at the end of class. The students will periodically be given quizzes and/or formative assessments. This will guide my instruction. I will review what the students need.Experiencia de clase

Grado de EE. UU. 7 - 10
In this 9-week course, students will take an in-depth look at other properties of matter, reaction kinetics, and acid-base theory. The content is covered in the 4th 9-week course in a conventional chemistry class. Engaged students learn content needed to successfully take assessments. Week 1 - Other Properties of Matter - Extensive Properties Week 2 - Properties of Matter - Intensive Properties Week 3 - Properties of Matter - Mixtures & Filtration Week 4 - Kinetic Molecular Theory Week 5 - Properties of Matter - Melting Point, Boiling Point, Vapor Pressure Week 6 - Properties of Matter - Properties of Water and Surface Tension Week 7 - Acid-Base Theory Week 8 - Neutralization and Salts Week 9 - Nuclear Reactions The students will be able to apply the law of conservation of matter. The students will learn to explain the relation between a measurable property (e.g., melting point, boiling point, vapor pressure, surface tension) and the intermolecular forces of a substance. This section will be taught using pictures, video clips, slides, discussions, lecture, and open-ended questions. The students will learn the idea that as the kinetic energy of colliding particles increases and the number of collisions increases, the reaction rate increases. This section will be taught using pictures, video clips, slides, discussions, lecture, and open-ended questions. The students will learn about the acid-base theory in addition to nuclear reactions. This section will be taught using the periodic table, interactive simulations/games, pictures, video clips, slides, discussions, lecture, and open-ended questions.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will improve their understanding of the composition of the world around them. They will improve their understanding of the periodic table and atoms. Engaged students will improve their ability to respond to Chemistry state assessment questions.
