This is a One Time Class to Learn about Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANT's) in a fun and engaging way to help overcome worries and negative thought patterns. We address: >> Why our Brain is important for Success in Life and at Work >> How our thoughts and emotions influence the neurochemistry of the brain >> Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANT’s) and the power of thoughts, taught in a practical and fun way >> 9 different ANT species that "infest" your brain (and how to "get rid" of each). >> Strategies derived from philosophy and psychology to help automatic negative thoughts and focus on the positive. (Become your own internal ANT-eater...) >> How to distinguish between things we can change and things we cannot change This class is similar to part 10 of the 12-part "Love Your Brain - Neuroscience Applied to Behavior" course and adapted (with permission) from the materials of the "Brain Thrive by 25" course by Dr. Daniel Amen, MD ("America's most famous psychiatrist"). - Dr. Amen is the teacher's (Dr. Christine's) own brain health mentor and has certified her as a Certified Brain Health Professional herself.) It can be used as a stand-alone-class, as a class to get to know me and learn more about the course or as a refresher if you already took the class. Students will gain insight how our thoughts may influence our emotions, and, based on stoic philosophy and modern psychological principles, that we can change the thoughts we think to feel better about ourselves, have a better brain and be more successful in life and at work.

This is education, not counseling or therapy. If your student or a friend or family member has a mental health or neurodevelopmental disorder, this class can inform them on what is possible and how to help themselves, others or understand how professionals can help better, but it does not provide individual counseling or therapy. Please always use and follow the advice of your learner's healthcare provider! This class does not address or treat any illness or disorder.
This class is adapted (with permission) from class 10 of Dr. Amen's course "BrainThrive by 25" and is based on my 40-years experience in healthcare and extensive studies of philosophy, medicine and psychology.
The original course by Dr. Amen has been taught in 100's of schools and been proven to reduce the likelihood of participants starting to use drugs/alcohol/marijuana and improve their own physical, mental, social, and spiritual health. Dr. Amen also authored excellent books on brain and mental health ("Change Your Brain, Change Your Life") and many others on how to get better grades, and other topics.
