Important Notes: All of my classes are inclusive. Classes are suitable for the neurodiverse child. CEFR: B1-B2 and above. In this art & history based class (secular approach), Learner will enjoy 3 interconnected thematic classes of Love, Family and Christmas. Class #1 Love themed class: Love & Its Many St. Valentine's Muses Through Millennia of World Art History (teacher prepared powerpoint slides for visual material, plus teacher's presentation and class discussion). Class #2 Family themed class: Families Portrayed Through Millennia of Human World Art History (teacher prepared powerpoint slides for visual material, plus teacher's presentation and class discussion). Class #3 Christmas themed class: Art History Masters & Styles Through the Cultural Theme of Christmas (teacher prepared powerpoint slides for visual material, plus teacher's presentation and class discussion). In each one of the above classes, Learner will travel from ancient times to modern day discovering the works of Master Artists, their styles and media, from ancient to surrealism inspired on these 3 central themes. In Class #1 and #2, Learner will travel from antiquity to modern day, discovering the master artists, different media, learning about the history of art through the central themes of Love and Families, including cultural highlights and stories that illuminate the work under an enriching light. Presentations will include art from ancient Egypt, Greece, Italy, Europe, America and more, and artists such as Van Gogh, Picasso, Dali, Chagall, and Botero. Class #3, dedicated to Christmas, will be reviewed from a secular and historical perspective, exploring Christian iconography through the art works by Michelangelo, Raphael, Giotto, and others interpreting its thematic iconographies, such as the Nativity, Adoration of the Shepherds, Mother and Child. Class will include some of the great classics like the stained glass windows from European cathedrals, frescoes from Hagia Sophia, as well as Chagall and Botero paintings among others. Learner will develop a solid Art History & Cultural Appreciation. The class is structured following an introduction, a rich slide selection, including exchanges, and Q&A. Teaching style is kind and inclusive, emphasizing love for the arts, love for the family, and love for the beautiful art inspired on these 3 themes, offering Learner a captivating learning experience & discovery. For these reasons and for gauging Learner's interest level and to be able to adjust accordingly, I require open videos in my classes so there is a sense of community and engagement with the material. Learners will interact with teacher and each other throughout the class. Class size is kept small (1-3) to allow for kids to express their comments and vital curiosity. These classes are part of a group of Art History classes, which follow a constant theme that is of interest to the Learner, such as dogs, cats, horses, miniature paintings, etc., and may be taken as a complete group, as in a camp format, or separately. No previous experience is required.
Metas de aprendizaje
Learners will gain a solid appreciation of Art History through the Masters of Art, their main works and evolving art styles, all through a perspective that is secular.
