In this one-time class, which can be used as an introduction to birds or a taster session for my flex 4-week Brilliant Birds Up Close course, we will be looking at what makes a bird a bird, and how they differ from other vertebrates. We will look at different characteristics that all birds share, and how to use these to identify a bird. In addition to this, we will also take a look at some familiar, and not-so-familiar birds from around the world, and we will also have a fun and interactive quiz about birds on Nearpod. Also in this series: Rocking Reptiles - What Makes a Reptile a Reptile? Amazing Amphibians - What Makes an Amphibian an Amphibian? Marvellous Mammals - What Makes a Mammal a Mammal?
