Come tour the world through great books! Join me and other classmates from all over the planet as we read exciting stories about great adventures and the people who experienced them. In this series, we’ll read one book together over the course of 4 weeks, giving you time to read and dive into the story. Included in our book club will be: -Weekly live book discussion -An engaging presentation all about the author -Intriguing background information highlighting locations, characters, and historical context -Appropriate video tie-ins -In-class dramatic readings -Vocabulary review -Weekly creative projects such as colorful mapping, an illuminated letters project, and other fun projects 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑹𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒏 𝑯𝒐𝒐𝒅 is a fast-paced book that is not only full of adventure, it’s funny, interesting, and even educational—all the best things about reading rolled into one. We'll be reading the version of the story of Robin Hood that was written by author Roger Lancelyn Green. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑹𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒏 𝑯𝒐𝒐𝒅 tells of the perennially exciting tales of Robin Hood and his Merry Men and all of their enjoyable escapades through Sherwood Forest. It's a classic you won't want to miss! You can choose to read or listen to an audio version of the book. We’ll split each book into 3 sections and read one section per week. For 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑹𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒏 𝑯𝒐𝒐𝒅, our schedule will look like this: Session/Week One: In-class intro (you do not have to read anything before our first session) Session/Week Two: Come to class having read Chapters 1-10 Session/Week Three: Come to class having read Chapters 11- 20 Session/Week Four: Come to class having read Chapters 21- Epilogue Love reading? First Day Adventure in Learning and Class Discussion
During the first live meeting, I will be introducing you to the author and the book, focusing on culture, history, and the geography covered in the story. You don't need to have any of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘙𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘯 𝘏𝘰𝘰𝘥 read yet, but feel free to start it if you like.

During the live meeting, we will discuss Chapters 1-10 using conversational Socratic method. We will also discuss the week’s exciting illuminated letters project!

Robin Hood, as you may remember, robs from the rich to give to the poor. Weapons are used (bows and arrows, knives), and there is the ethical question of whether or not it's okay to rob anyone at all. One of our projects will require the use of a pocket knife or similar tool.
