Wilbur is a young pig. He was born in the spring, and runt. He was almost “gotten rid of” because he was small, but more than once his life was saved by his friends. Through creativity, ingenuity and perseverance, they work together to trick the Zuckerman’s, but in the end, is it enough? Is Wilbur safe? Come to class and find out what happens. Learn about friendship, cause and effect, and why you should never break a rotten egg! This is a four week course where students will have time to read and discuss the book Charlotte’s Web by EB White. The class will focus on learning new vocabulary, basic comprehension, fact vs opinion, and cause and effect. Week 1: Chapters 1-6 (Before Breakfast through Summer Days) Week 2: Chapters 7-12 (Bad News through A Meeting) Week 3: Chapters 13-18 (Good Progress through Uncle) Week 4: Chapters 19-22 (The Cool of the Evening through A Warm Wind) * Before our first class, please read chapters 1-6 (Before Breakfast through Summer Days). * For this class, students need to be able to read at a third grade reading level or higher.

I have been working with children for more than 20 years including as a certified teacher and a homeschool mom. I have worked with a wide variety of age groups and and taught a variety of subjects including severe-profound special education preschool, honors high school and everything in between. But my specialties are drawing, brick building classes, elementary literacy, special education and baking. I even own small bakery!
My husband and I have three children. We enjoy camping, hiking, going to the park and playing board games as a family. My personal hobbies include baking, reading, painting, drawing and crocheting.
I look forward to seeing you in class!
