Para esta clase bilingüe del primer semestre, los estudiantes cubrirán las habilidades del plan de estudios de ELA para 4to grado. Los hablantes de inglés y español pueden aprender habilidades de ELA y un nuevo idioma al mismo tiempo. Leeremos, escribiremos y hablaremos en ambos idiomas.

In our class we will cover a variety of literary, poetry and nonfiction elements in both English and Spanish. The second semester we will focus on nonfiction elements standards. Both semesters will include paired stories to compare and contrast elements among genres. My name is Carlos Acosta, and I am a certified teacher with credentials in Elementary EC-6 , Core Content areas EC-8, ESL , Social Studies 8-12, and Spanish K-12. I have been teaching ELA for the past 12 years, with the last four years being fully online. I believe that all students can learn through effectively structured lessons that not only practice higher-order thinking skills but also prepare them to become lifelong learners. I utilize technological applications that enable students to learn the content while also seeing their progress and having fun. I use platforms like Nearpod, Kahoot, and Wordwall, among others, to engage students and assess their mastery.
