Ballet para principiantes (4-6, en curso)

Hello! In this Intro to Ballet class, students will start by introducing themselves and making new friends inside the classroom. After introductions and fun facts have been shared, we will move into a warm up to prepare for dancing. Warm up will include a stretching sequence as well as a few dance activities to get the dancers imagination and creativity flowing. Next, students will be taught several new dance vocabulary words, and we will practice performing these steps together. Once students feel comfortable with their new dance moves, we will craft a short ballet combination to perform as a group at the end of class to show off our new skills. As important as building technique is, the main goal of this class is for students to have fun and fall in love with ballet. No previous ballet experience is needed to take this course, just curiosity and a willingness to try new things. 
General Schedule:
Week 1 (July 31st) - Intro to ballet; Learn your basics, meet your bar and find positions
Week 2 (Aug. 7th)  - Say hi to your feet; point, flex, turn out, tendu, and all the other fun things your feet can do
Week 3 (Aug. 14th) - Get ready to jump; Plie, releve, how to jump and land
Week 4 (Aug. 21st)- Time to turn; Passe, spotting, how to use your arms in a turn
