Clase de scrapbooking para principiantes

Have you ever seen those videos on Youtube or Tiktok that show people making journals with tape, stickers, paper and glue? Well, this is more commonly known as a type of scrapbooking that involves using a blank journal as a canvas! You will often see it labeled "journaling layout" or something similar. 

This is a social art class. 

In this class we will be exploring a variety of techniques used in paper crafting to create our own journal spreads. If you do not want to fill your journal with words, this could be a great option to add colors and pictures. 

Paper crafting is the use of construction paper, scrapbook paper or ephemera like old book pages or maps to create something new. 
Using a blank journal, together we will use adhesives of many kinds to glue in paper, and top that with stickers or cutouts. You can use your computer to print off any images you want to put into your journal. Then, use a glue stick to paste them in! You will see this being done in my journal as well as using a variety of other materials that I will list below. Think of it as a creative collage. 

Class will be done in dual view so that you can see both my face as we talk and socialize together, but also my hands and journal to see exactly how I create my favorite layouts. 

There is no wrong way to create a journal. Some are filled with lots of stickers, paper and embellishments-- and some only have a few so that the maker can then write in the blank spaces. So this is truly a class for someone who just loves to create. 

Do you feel like making your journal spread a theme this week? Go for it! You could be feeling really happy and want to put pictures of things that make you smile in your journal. Feeling like you want to make a page all about your pet? Get some stickers that are of animals and a photo of your pet and choose some colored paper to match. Did it rain all day and all you want to do sleep? You might make a calming spread of blues and grays. 

This is a beginners class. Students do not need any prior background.

There will be no required journaling form or any how-to sessions. If you see a technique another learner is doing, ask them about it! You can also learn from the techniques I will be doing such as ripping paper, cutting stickers and layering.
