📝 Come to class ready to write! 
In this three-day camp, we will focus on first grade common core writing skills.  After introductions we will begin class by exploring different modes of writing.  Learners will then have the remainder of class to write, ask questions, and get feedback.   At the end of class learners are encouraged to share what they wrote. 

🗓 Our Schedule:
Day One:  Our imaginations will guide us as we create an imaginative narrative.  Our focus will be developing a beginning, middle and end while stretching our sentences by answering WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, and WHY.

Day Two: We'll learn about opinions and how to express them in our writing with a focus on sentence starters and transitions.  

Day Three: Come to class with something to share that explains what you want to be when you grow up.  Write to teach the class about your career choice.

+ Content presented in an engaging way
+ Quiet writing time (also for individual feedback and questions)
+ Time allowed to share what we wrote- optional
+ Conclusion of class

📎 Upon enrollment a get to know you document will be provided.  Please print this out and have your learner complete it prior to the first day of class so we can all get to know each other!  The more comfortable we are, the more likely we are to share our writing with peers.

📎 After each class I will send out additional practice.  This is NOT required, but suggested as it will help reinforce concepts from class.  The more you write, the better you'll get!

📍There will be times during instruction where I'll ask that students be muted.  This is to help keep distractions at a minimum during  writing time.  

** If your learner prefers being off camera, please let me know PRIOR to the start date of class.  My goal is for EVERY learner to feel comfortable!
