In this 4-week course, students will spend each class reviewing previously learned material and learning new material, playing upbeat songs and pieces, and having fun by playing corresponding games from the "Interactive Piano Method" book. 
Week 1: Get ready to play! Sit at the piano the right way! Learn finger numbers, explore the keyboard by identifying black-key groups, identify low and high sound, study correct hand position, get introduced to quarter notes, and learn to perform an upbeat song. 
Week 2: Students will review learned terms, start playing 4 new performance pieces/songs, and do activity sheets.
Week 3: New material will be learned (bar lines and measures, half notes); students will play games and learn a few new pieces/songs. 
Week 4: Students will learn forte/piano and whole notes, play their favorite pieces/songs, and review everything they have learned for last 4 weeks. 
This method will teach students to work independently, build a good foundation in music theory and sight reading skills for early elementary level.

- A keyboard or piano is required for the class.

- You can use a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, оr phone with internet. Please be sure that your device is charged. It is helpful for students to have a phone/tablet holder or stand so I can see their hands while playing the piano. 

- For this course students will need to purchase "Interactive Piano Method" book, Level 1A (25% discount is available and expires July 31). The method includes lesson book, performance pieces, and online games with activities directly related to the unit’s topic in the lesson book. Students can log in from ANY computer or tablet (such as an iPad®) to access the Online Activities and Digital Downloads (PDFs and MP3s).
